Movie Review - Evaraina Epudaina

The film Evaraina Epudaina with the tagline Preamalo Padocchu is another teenage romance film. The same old story - boy meets girl, falls in love and then he does some silly and even foolish things, all in the name of love in order to win over her love.

Story:Venkat (Varun Sandesh) is a graduate who lives with his brother and his family. Venkat does not do any work and whiles away all his time in the company of friends. He also blackmails his friends and even total strangers and extorts money from them. He comes across Madhumita (Vimala Raman) and falls for her. He gets an opportunity to befriend her when his grandmother is in hospital and Madhumita’s grandmother is also in the same hospital.

Venkat manages to make a good impression on Madhu. He however hesitates to tell her that he loves her. Just when he wants to propose to her, he wrongly believes that Madhu is being engaged to his best friend. Venkat breaks up the alliance with a wicked pln only to realize that he had made a mistake. Venkat's friend was getting engaged to Madhu's elder sister and not Madhu.

The rest of the story is how Venkat goes about trying to undo the damage. In the process Madhumitha even starts hating him. In the climax, all is however forgotten and forgiven.

Performance:Varun Sandesh plays out a role of a good for nothing fellow whose only aim is to succeed in his love, by hook or by crook. Sandesh looks every bit the young and carefree college graduate he portrays. He is convincing but it is in the serious and emotional scenes that he fails completely. He needs to work hard in doing serious scenes.

Vimala Raman is okay but she does not seem to have too many expressions in her repertoire and keeps repeating the same ones again and again. She has done some hot intimate scenes without showing much inhibition. This may help her to bag a few more films.

There is nothing much for the rest of the star cast to do. The lineup of Giri Babu, Rama Prabha, Ali, Kovai Sarala, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Radha Kumari, Surekha Vani and others is used mostly in purely supporting roles. Ali and Venu Madhav try their hand at comedy. Brahmanandam makes a brief two minute guest appearance at the end.

Mani Sarma’s music is reasonably good and the songs have some fast music that will appeal to the youngsters. The production values are adequate.

The director tries to show too many things all at the same time. There is no novelty in the story and the screenplay is also a bit confusing.

The film moves in a lighthearted manner in the first half and also follows in a similar pattern for mot part of the second half too. It is only in the last 15 minutes that all the action takes place.

Evaraina Epudaina has very limited appeal – it is now up to the target audience, the college students to decide the fate of the film.

Ravi Teja gets Lakshmi Rai

Sultry siren Lakshmi Rai bagged a golden offer to act with Ravi Teja and that too in Krishna Vamsi direction. Reportedly, Lakshmi Rai was roped in as one of the heroines in this film. Lakshmi Rai acted in Srikanth's 'Kanchanamala Cable TV' previously but could not get proper recognition. Now, she got the best director to exhibit her skills and make it big in Tollywood.

Charmy is expected to play another heroine in this film. Bellamkonda Suresh is producing this film. This film is supposed to hit floors in August.

Robot - shooting status

'Superstar' Rajnikanth's 'Robot' shooting is progressing steadily in Chennai. Director Shankar is handling this project very carefully to achieve huge success than 'Sivaji'. Currently, the unit is shooting in a specially erected city streets set. After this schedule, the unit would shift gears to can songs in lavish sets that will be erected soon.

Eternal beauty Aishwarya Rai is romancing Rajnikanth for the first time. Oscar-winning music director AR Rehman is providing music.

Adavi - Nitin, RGV flick

'Youth Star' Nitin's Bollywood debut flick 'Agyaat' will be available to Telugu audience as 'Adavi'. Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is making this suspense thriller. Sculptive seductress Priyanka Kothari is paired with Nitin for the first time. The film unit organized a press meet in Prasad Labs yesterday to provide details about this dubbed version. RGV, Nitin and Priyanka Kothari attended the press meet.

RGV said, "I am a thriller flick lover since my debut flick Shiva. This film is about a film crew who enters a jungle to shoot a movie. Nitin plays the role of an assistant director. An invisible predator starts slaughtering one by one in the crew. Nitin fights the predator in this psychological thriller. We are releasing the movie on July 17th."

Prabhas Darling launched with pooja

'Young Rebel Star' Prabhas's new flick 'Darling' held its pooja today morning at producer 'Chatrapathi' Prasad's office. Only the film crew attended the launch ceremony of the film. Karunakaram is directing this love story. Kajal Agarwal is selected as the female lead. Top Tamil actor Prabhu will be donning a vital role. Bhogavally Prasad is producing this film on Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner.

Karunakaran's father Alagar Swamy clapped the clapboard and Prabhas, himself directed the first shot.

Director Karunakaran said, "This is not a routine love story. This movie reminds us about a lot of real incidents in society. To say, this is a love story mixed with action elements."

Prabhas said, "I liked the script as soon as Karunakaran narrated to me. This is a different love story that touches new dimension."

GV Prakash would compose music for this film. Andrews handles camera and Peter Hynes provides action sequences. This movie starts rolling from July.

Junior Prince steals the show

'Prince' Mahesh Babu's wife Namratha Mahesh attended the opening ceremony of 'Cafe Melange' established at Film Nagar today. Interesting news is that, Namratha along with her son Gowtham graced the occasion. With this news spreading fast, Mahesh fans surrounded the place in few minutes to have a look at 'Junior' Mahesh. 'Junior Prince' looked charming every bit and resembles Mahesh. Namratha Mahesh hoped that 'Cafe Melange' attracts the people in short time.

CM YSR sounded the clapboard and launched Nitin's latest movie at CM's camp office today morning. Eeswar Reddy ('Siddu From Seekakulam' fame) is directing this film. Malla Vijaya Prasad, present Congress MLA is producing this film on Welfare Creations banner. Petite beauty Hansika is playing the love interest of Nitin. Music will be given by Anoop Rubens.

Ministers Balraju and J Geetha Reddy switched on the camera and directed first shot respectively.

Regular shooting of the film would begin from June 23.

Jr NTR's Idea To Cross Mahesh Babu

When it comes to young tiger junior NTR, it appears that after the much hyped response he has got from the masses during his election canvassing , it looks like the results of his tour have not changed his thought. Many are saying that he is currently keen on getting past prince Mahesh Babu.

This applies not only in charisma but also in payment. This was the opinion that was expressed by those producers who approached junior for doing a film. Apparently, he is said to be demanding Rs 7 crores as of now which in reality is much higher than Mahesh.

As expected, the response for this has been quite mild from the producers’ end but then junior is said to be persistent on that figure. Sources reveal that his idea is to get past Mahesh in both financial and appeal terms but the truth remains as to how much impact can junior actually create at the box office.

Oy! Movie Releasing On June 25th

Vedham - Launch on June 12th
