Vikram's much-anticipated super hero film Mallana (Kanthaswamy in Tamil), which was slated for May 29 release, has been postponed to June 12 as the post production work, including graphics and animation, is taking longer than expected, sources said. The audio launch has also been rescheduled to May 10.
Post-production work is going on at breakneck speed and the visual effects are expected to take some more time. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and directed by Susi Ganesan, Mallana was filmed in five countries and is a superman-like story with a logical twist. Fantasy and realism are mixed in the plot to make it a commercial entertainer. Shriya plays the female lead.
Vivek, Santhanam, Vinod Raj, Y.G. Mahendran, Arun Mathavan, Vinayak and Alex will be seen in supporting roles. Vikram’s father Vinothraj and Malayalam actor Indrajith (elder brother of actor Prithviraj), play important roles in this film which has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Mithrudu overseas rights bagged by Mani
Music Director Mani Sharma turned into distributor with Balakrishna's 'Mithrudu'. Mani Sharma bagged the overseas distribution rights of this film for which he scored music. Mani is said to be extremely confident about the success of the film. Earlier, Suresh Productions were approached by the producer for overseas distribution. However, Mani's request in the last minute made producer to give the distribution rights to him.
So, Mani Sharma seems to be very much satisfied with the final output of the film. Let's wait for another day to know the result of the film.
Nara Rohit debut flick launch on May 4
Nara Rohit's (S/O Nara Rammurthy Naidu) debut flick as hero will be launched in a grand function being organized at Hyderabad on May 4th. Mega Producer Aswini Dutt is producing this venture on Vyjayanthi Movies banner.Newcomer Chaitanya Dantuluri will be directing this flick. NBK's Mithrudu Movie review
Story
mitrudu Aditya (Bala Krishna) is a loner who is depressed and he stays in Malaysia. Indu (Priyamani) is the daughter of a billionaire businessman and she studies in Malaysia. Her astrologer back home tells her the attributes of her ideal choice and those attributes meet that of Aditya’s. After a few failed attempts, Aditya accepts the proposal of Indu and gets married to her. The rest of the story is all about why Aditya is depressed and is about the real reason behind Indu chasing Aditya and marrying him
Artists Performance
mitrudu Bala Krishna is pretty handsome as Aditya. He downplayed himself in lots of scenes and did justice to the character. He has very few dialogues in the first half. Priyamani is very good and she got nice footage in the movie. Srilatha got a lengthy character as the friend of Priyamani. Brahmanandam is entertaining as JB Zen (Jana Bethedu Janardhan). Deepak did an important role in this movie after King and Arundhati. Krishna Bhagawan is also entertaining. Ranganadh, Balayya, Chalapati Rao and others are adequate.

mitruduStory - screenplay - direction: Story of the movie is penned by Vijayendra Prasad who penned the stories for all Rajamouli’s films. The story is based on astrological predictions and soothsaying. Direction is adequate for the first timer. But he should have injected good commercial payoffs like his mentor Rajamouli. By placing the fate/destiny as the spoilsport, the director couldn’t elevate the villain’s stature. And due to lack of direct conflict between hero and villain, the commercial payoffs don’t happen. Screenplay should have been more compact.
mitruduOther departments: Music and background score by Mani Sharma is satisfactory. The family song that comes during flashback episode is good. Dialogues by Ratnam are adequate. Photography of the movie is pleasant. Art direction for the ruined/burnt house during climax is good. Producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad made this movie with good production values.
mitruduAnalysis: Mitrudu is a soft film with not much of punch dialogues and mass sequences. The plus points of the movie are Bala Krishna and a flashback episode. On the flip side, the movie lacks commercial payoffs and the most vital hero-villain direct conflict angle. There is no relevance to the story and the title of the movie. We have to wait and see how the family crowds take it.

Deepika in race for Hindi - Arundathi
Telugu cinema’s biggest hit Arundhati will be remade into Hindi by its original makers with Sonu Sood playing the lead. The producers however, have not yet found an actress to play the female lead opposite Sonu. There was a buzz that the makers had approached Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress Anushka Sharma but the deal didn’t go through since she was still bound by a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films. It is learnt that the producers have now approached Deepika Padukone for the role. A source says, “After Anushka Sharma, another name that was considered was the original heroine of the Telugu blockbuster, whose name is also Anushka. Considering the fact that she is still an unknown face in Bollywood, they decided to opt for a more popular young actress in Bollywood who didn’t have a set image and the Om Shanti Om girl’s name cropped up. The discussions are on but nothing has been finalised yet.” An industry insider reveals, “The makers are adamant on having Sonu in the lead, since he played the main villain in the Telugu original. They are still stuck without a female lead, but they are opting for all the A-listers and are not ready to settle for anything less.” - D C

Vivek Oberoi As Paritala Ravi
Paritala Ravi’s life story happened to be the favorite subject to make a movie for Ram Gopal Varma who made box office wonders with films like ‘Company’ comprising mafia theme. For this he carried on ample research in Anantapur by meeting various people from Paritala’s family and also the opponent Maddelacheruvu Suri’s family.
He made a script that lasts for about 5 hrs on screen, if canned. Hence he divided the theme into two parts as Rakta Charitra-1 and Rakta Charitra-2. While the first part shows the rise of Paritala Ravi from forest to ballet, the second part deals with how he was trapped in the conspiracies of opponents.
Vivek Oberoi is finalized to play Paritala Ravi’s character and that is going to be made both in Telugu and Hindi with same title. We have to see who will play the roles of Maddelacheruvu Suri, assassin Moddu Seenu, Paritala Suneetha, Gangula Bhanumathi (wife of Suri) and Lakshmi Rajyam (wife of Moddu Seenu). All these roles play vital role in the entire script. In fact, the roles of former CM NTR, Chandrababu Naidu, YSR and YS Jagan may also be grooved in to narrate the story. Ram Gopal Varma who made the failure film Aag has now stirred entire Bollywood and Tollywood circuits with this fresh ‘Rakta Charitra’ announcement.

Nitin and Ileana to taste 'Mirchi'!
Upcoming action hero Nitin's new film opposite leading actress Ileana is likely to be titled Mirchi. Directed by Paruchuri Murali and produced by G. Venkataramana under the banner of Sri Spectra Media, Youth star Nitin has been part of the Telugu circuit since quite a few years but barring the exception of his films ‘Jayam’ and ‘Sye’ he has not been able to come up with one decent hit. His last few movies have bombed miserably at the box office and now he is all set to arrive with a new movie. titled ‘Mirchi’ Nitin is presented in an action-oriented role with some lover boy features, while Ileana has a very special performance-oriented role. The director says that the film will be a complete entertainer and will have Nitin excelling in action and romantic scenes. Moreover, the chemistry between Nitin and Ileana is encouraging though both of them come together for the first time. Definitely our film would be very different from my earlier films. Gopi-Gopika-Godavari is complete!
After doing Godavari film, Kamalinee Mukherjee is going to act in another similar titled film Gopi Gopika Godavari. Venu is doing male lead. Directed by Vamsi of Ladies Tailor fame, has completed its final schedule of shooting in a huge set at Singannapalli Revu. Touted to be a romantic story, the movie was filmed in the locales of Polavaram, Godavari, Papikondalu and Singannapalli Revu for the last few months. Shooting part of the film is complete and dubbing is currently going on. Ramesh Vallauru produces the film after the hit Aunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru under the banner of Maharshi Cinemas and noted director Vamsi is the director. The river Godavari seems to be lucky for both Vamsi and Kamalinee Mukherjee. While most of Vamsi’s films have references to the Godavari, Kamalini had earlier acted in Godavari, which was shot in and around the river. Krishna Bhagavan, Kondavalasa, Jeeva, Kalyan, Jayalalitha, Geethanjali, Sana are the supporting artists. Music is composed by Chakri and lyrics were penned by Ramajogaiah Sastry. Cinematography is by B. Loki Goud. The audio launch of Gopi-Gopika-Godavari will be held in April. The film will be released in May.
RamCharan in 'Billa-2'
Ramcharan Teja who is all set to arrive with his new movie ‘Magadheerudu’ has been hitting headlines for another reason too. There was a strong grapevine making rounds in the Tollywood circles that a sequel was actually planned for the film ‘Billa’ and the makers wanted to rope in Charan for the lead role. As Billa' starring Prabhas in the lead is released with so many expectations.But because of the Direction department, the movie could not reach them and is doing average business It is known that Farhan Aktar is planning Don -2 with SRK. Now Meher Ramesh the director of 'Billa' is also planning a sequel Billa -2. In the sequel Young rebel star Prabhas will be replaced with Ramcharan, as per sources. This flick would be produced by the Ashwini Dutt who produced the launch flick of Charan 'Chirutha'. However, this was a buzz that came a while ago and given the current outcome of ‘Billa’ it remains to be seen whether such a project will actually take off or not. Meanwhile, sources from Kollywood say that they are making a sequel to their original blockbuster ‘Billa’.
Inner View: Mitrudu
Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna who disappointed all with his over hyped ‘Okka Magadu’ salvaged a bit of his presence when his devotional movie ‘Pandurangadu’ came in. Though that movie also failed to shine at the box office, it was not as bad as ‘Okka Magadu’.
So in order to make up for all the flops Balayya is all set to arrive with his new venture. This has been titled ‘Mitrudu’ and the film as the title suggests is going to be more of a friendly family entertainer than anything else.
This marks the debut of Mahadev as the director while one of Balayya’s long time loyal Sivalenka Krishna Prasad happens to be the producer of this flick. As such, the budget has been quite high on this one as is the regular Balayya movie and this time, the leading lady of the film happens to be the hot and buxom beauty Priyamani.
The music for this has been composed by Mani Sharma, the gaana Brahma. The film also has Brahmanandam, Chandra Mohan, Tanikella, Pradeep Rawat as part of the support cast.
Debutante director Mahadev happens to be the protégé of the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli and it is heard from sources close to him that the film has shaped out really well but they don’t want to create much hype for it. The film will also see Balayya in all the ‘Navarasas’ and yet again Priyamani is said to be giving a complete visual feast with her oomph and sex appeal.
Balayya has been busy with the election campaigning and all that since quite sometime and now he has got some break with it. The audio of ‘Mitrudu’ has already been released and it has been getting some real good response. Interestingly, there was no audio release function or anything and it came directly to the market.
